Robinson Park in Sandstone MN in known for its hard "mixed" climbing, thin ice mixed in with steep rock. The Sandstone Ice Festival brings in climbers from all over the Midwest and even some from Canada to play on the vertical ice walls.
Ice climbing, winter camping, clinics and gear demos. And this year meet Dawn Glanc and hear her adventures of ice climbs of the Rockies and Alaska, her stories of success and injuries.

You don't have to be an Ice climber to have fun at the Sandstone Ice Festival, there will be plenty of outdoor fun for everyone.

The other cool thing is that I recently did an interview with National Geographic Adventure Magazine about the Ice Fest. The article should be in the November issue and hopefully all the dorky things I said will be edited out.
A world-class ice climber and a little coverage in a national periodical, I'd say things are looking good for this year's festival.
