What is The Kite Panel?

The Kite Panel is a jacket insert that zips into your current jacket to allow your kite harness spreader bar to stick out of your jacket.  This allows you to wear your harness under your jacket instead of over it.  You no longer have to spend money on a kite specific jacket to keep the snow and cold wind from getting into your jacket and you don't have to worry about your harness riding up over your slippery shell.  We custom make these panels to fit you and your jacket.  You choose the zipper, you choose where you want your spreader bar opening.  We build it for you!

What is it made out of?

Currently all of our Kite Panels are made using a waterproof breathable fabric or cordura and lining the back of that with fleece.  The spreader bar opening has thin plastic strips sewn into pockets to allow the opening of the spreader bar hook to poke out, but retain rigidity to keep it closed around the bar to block out the elements.  We currently are using only YKK zippers for durability and to be compatible with most jackets on the market.

Before ordering your custom Kite Panel we need to know:

What size and style zipper your current jacket has?
How high from the bottom of your jacket you want the spreader bar opening?

We can also customize your blank Kite Panel with embroidery or heat pressed vinyl.  Perfect for clubs, businesses and other promotion without altering your expensive jacket.  Zip in, zip out.

Currently we only offer The Kite Panel in Black fabric to suit most jacket colors.  In the future we will offer more variety.

No need to shell out hundreds of dollars for a kite specific jacket.  At our prices, it could be the most affordable piece of kite gear you'll purchase.

How much?

Since the Kite Panel is a new idea and we are looking for feedback and building a compatibility database we are offering The Kite Panel with stock zippers for $40.  Those of you with YKK water resistant zippers will have to pay $50.  Sorry, but those zippers cost us more.  If we have to track down a special zipper for you, let us know and we'll see what we can do. 

What if I get it and it doesn't fit?

If the panel doesn't fit, it doesn't fit!  Send it back and we'll refund your money.  We're going to rob you of $10 from your refund to handle shipping which is a drag so if you think you have a question about compatibility, send us an email to ask first.  Since these are custom items we want it to fit and work so let's do it right the first time! Or another idea... use it as an excuse to go get a new jacket it does fit in.  Perfect excuse to buy more gear! 

How much for custom logos?

We can embroider or heat press custom logos onto your panel for your club or business.  Since there is a setup and digital artwork to be done, please email us for quotes.  A rough estimate is $1 per 1000 embroidered stitches ($5 minimum) or $.10 per square inch for heat pressed vinyl.  We prefer to do more then one for these embellishments, but we'll work with you to get you what you want. 

How do I order?

You need JavaScript enabled to view it with your request and needed information to start making your custom Kite Panel.  Once we receive that info, we'll send you a Paypal invoice for the damage.  When we receive that, your Panel construction will begin.  If you don't use paypal, we'll work out details for payment through email to help get you into your own custom panel as soon as possible.
